Cost to Become foster Carers
It is very important that finances aren’t a barrier for people to become foster carers (although it shouldn’t be a motivation to foster either); therefore, the foster carer isn’t expected to pay for their application, assessment or approval.
There may, however, be some costs incurred by applicants in order to pass the assessment: For example, applicants without laptops would be expected to purchase a laptop (or a device where they could complete tables on Word documents and carry out video calls). Also, if the home conditions don’t pass the health and safety assessment, there may be some cost involved for the applicants to do required work.
