Sparks Fostering Team
I qualified as a social worker in 2017 and since then, have worked within a local authority child protection team, primarily providing support to families, advocating for children, completely direct work and completing court reports and various assessments as part of care proceedings on a regular basis. I started in 2017 as an ASYE and progressed to become an Advance Social Work Practitioner in 2022.
Since 2017, I have also undertaken various other roles on a casual basis, including being a residential childcare practitioner in a solo residential unit and being an out of hours Crisis Worker for a Sexual Assault Referral Centre.
As well as working for the Local Authority, I became an Independent Social Worker in 2019, contracted to independent fostering agencies as I have a keen interest in undertaking fostering assessments since my university placement in the fostering sector. I take great fulfilment in getting to know prospective carers, ensuring that they are suitable to care for our most vulnerable children and young people and provide them with a loving, safe and nurturing home where they are able to thrive.
In 2021, I co-founded a new Supervised Contact Service in Sheffield and surrounding areas, which I continue to co-own and manage to this present day. My role is to safeguard children whilst ensuring they maintain close bonds with their loved ones and I work alongside social workers, solicitors, CAFCASS and the courts on a daily basis.
