Sparks Fostering Team

I am Pel Williamson and am currently an IRO and Child Protection Chair. I have also practised as a team manager, guest lecturer in social work, as well as a social worker within local authority child protection teams.

My background is in child protection social work. I achieved my MA and Diploma in social work in 2007 and have practised within local authorities throughout the Midlands area since this time.

I am experienced in all areas of social work, with child protection being my ‘bread and butter’.

Through my experiences in practice, I have developed a keen passion for relationship based social work and positive practice through empowerment and support.

My academic interests are in the effect of supervision in practice and the impact of social work on outcomes for children and families.

 In addition to my current roles, I have begun to expand my remit with Sparks Fostering, currently as an Agency Decision Maker for the approval of foster carers
